Respect for Human Rights

Basic Approach to Respecting Human Rights

Based on our Corporate Philosophy of “Creation, Contribution, and Cooperation” and the Tadano Group Sustainability Charter, the Tadano Group has established the Tadano Group Human Rights Policy to ensure maximum respect for human rights by all officers and employees in the Group.
In addition, the Tadano Group Mid-Term Management Plan (24-26) identifies “respect for human rights” as one of the key approaches to addressing sustainability issues.
We will promote initiatives to respect human rights in accordance with this policy and plan.

Policy

Tadano Group Human Rights Policy

Under our Corporate Philosophy of “Creation, Contribution, and Cooperation,” the Tadano Group strives to contribute to the preservation of the environment and the realization of a sustainable society through maximizing value to our stakeholders and engaging in sustainable business activities. Thus, we aim to pursue further excellence for the world and the future. Based on our Corporate Philosophy and the Tadano Group Sustainability Charter, the Tadano Group has established the Tadano Group Human Rights Policy to ensure maximum respect for human rights by all officers and employees in the Group. We also expect everyone at all business partners (suppliers) to understand and support this policy.

Support and Respect for International Norms

We will respect the International Bill of Human Rights, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and other international norms, and will take action based on the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. We will comply with the laws and regulations of the countries and regions in which we conduct business activities. In the event that internationally recognized human rights are not correctly respected in the laws and practices of a certain country or region, we will pursue methods of exercising maximum respect for internationally recognized human rights.

Respect for Human Rights in Our Business Activities

We will prevent any violations of human rights in our supply chain, including forced labor, child labor, and human trafficking, and will promote initiatives to ensure the effectiveness of such prevention.
In the workplace, we will accept the diversity of values, including abilities and experiences, and will eliminate discrimination on the basis of race, nationality, gender, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other grounds, and will construct an environment that is safe and motivating.
In order to grow together with our customers, we will provide products and services that are safe and secure.
We take seriously the effects that our factories and products have on everyone in the local community, and endeavor to conduct business activities that contribute to community development.

Human Rights Due Diligence, Corrective Measures, and Remediation

We will establish appropriate mechanisms for human rights due diligence to identify and assess adverse human rights impacts, and endeavor to prevent and mitigate human rights violations. If it becomes clear that an adverse human rights impact has occurred, or that such an impact has been facilitated, we will work to implement corrective measures through appropriate means and establish systems to prevent recurrence.

Education

To ensure that this policy is fully embedded in all business activities, it will be reflected in our company regulations and business processes, and education will be provided to officers and employees. Furthermore, we will endeavor to ensure that all sales distributors and other business partners (suppliers) understand and cooperate with this policy.

Information Disclosure, Dialogue, and Consultation

Our human rights initiatives will be appropriately disclosed on the Tadano website or by other means of communication. We will engage in dialogue and consultation with relevant stakeholders regarding action to address any adverse human rights impacts.
